DIY Mud cloth Inspired easter eggs!

Today I'm bringing you a fun way to celebrate Easter by decorating Easter Eggs! I found these wooden eggs at the dollar section at Target! These are super cute and you can customize them however you want. A fun craft for you and your kids, or girlfriends on a Friday night with some wine! Plus - they will last you A LOT longer than the real eggs, with a lot less headache.

I've been really into African mud cloth textiles and prints lately and decided to paint mine with these in mind! They are very simplistic and love the black and white look. Don't worry you don't have to be an artist for these designs - just a steady hand!

Things you'll need:

1. Black acrylic paint from Michaels or Amazon

2. White acrylic paint from Michaels or Amazon

3. Wooden Easter eggs from Target or Amazon

4. Paintbrush - Michaels or Amazon

5. Black & white paint markers - from Michaels or Amazon . OR good ol' sharpies will do the trick! - Target

Directions:

Start by painting each egg one by one with a big brush. It helps if you set it upright and paint around the entire egg first, let that dry, and then come back and paint the bottom. If you try to paint it all at once, you have a chance of smudging or having it stick. I chose to paint only 8 eggs, 3 white, 3 black, and then I left 2 the natural wood color.

Luckily, acrylic paint dries really fast! So once you have all your base colors painted, you can can move onto cute patterns! Here are the patterns that I chose that were inspired from Mud cloth textiles! You can really choose any type of pattern that comes to mind OR search for on Pinterest!

Let that dry and you're done!! Nothing is easier that painting some cute little craft eggs from the dollar section at Target, and sprucing up a little spot in your house with these! And it's such a fun, easy craft to enjoy for Easter.

Do you decorate for Easter?? If so - I'd love to here your ideas and thoughts below in the comments!

Happy Easter!
